Park High School Colne – Fire Alarm Installation Project Secured

Thompson Building Services Engineers have secured the Fire Alarm Installation project at Park High School Colne to be completed this Summer.

The project, working directly for the Pennine Trust MAT, was competively tendered via Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors under the CIF bidding scheme.

The Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) is an annual bidding round for eligible academies, sixth-form colleges and non-diocesan VA schools to apply for capital funding. The priority for the fund is to address significant condition need, keeping education provider buildings safe and in good working order. This includes funding projects to address health and safety issues, building compliance and poor building condition.

CIF also supports a small proportion of expansion projects. These are for academies, sixth-form colleges and non-diocesan VA schools rated good or outstanding by Ofsted that can demonstrate a need to expand.

Works have commenced on site with Thompson Building Services Engineers fulfulling the role of Principal Contractor under the CDM Regulations.  Thompson have a variety of experience in undertaking this role for Local Authorities, Academy Trusts, Colleges and Educational establishments accross the North West.

Our site team is experience in working in the education sector.  The project will run to October and will be carefully managed when the students return to school after the summer holidays.
