Competitively Tendered Project
Principal Contractor
- Mechanical and Electrical Installation
Builders work including forming new offices, decoration and carpeting throughout
Project Value £275,000
Electrical Works
Complete new rewire to the entire 3rd and 4th floor including new containment, cable installation, power outlets and fire alarm. Installation of new LED lighting and emergency lighting scheme.
Whilst this project was competitively tender costs needed to be carefully managed particularly with reference to the scope for increased costs where the fire damage was more extensive than identified in the initial survey.
Our Site Manager had weekly meetings with the Site team to monitor progress. Regular meetings with the Client and our Contracts Manager again to review the progress to keep the client fully updated.
The works were taking place in an operational Police Station and as such essential services needed to be maintained to the non-affected floors. Notifications were issued for shutdowns of electrical and mechanical plant required for progression of the installation.
FEEDBACK
The whole team performed exceptionally well and as such it seems unfair to single out individuals but Kal, from a site management point of view and Colin, from an overall project management point of view, certainly went out of their way to ensure that the end result met, if not exceeded, the clients expectations. They were both a pleasure to work with.
