The key to delivering this project successfully was to ensure that we worked in partnership with Lancashire County Council to set the School’s expectations for the project including outlining the disruption that may be involved and working with the Headteacher to plan carefully the programme around key school dates such as a exams timetable, parents evenings and events.  The programme was developed with a full consultation with the school providing guidance and information as to what the works would entail.

Our Site Manager had daily meetings with the schools site supervisor and/or Head to keep them informed as to the current work.  Weekly meetings with the Head and our Contracts Manager again to review the planned programme and how the school’s activities may impact on that programme such as planned afterschool activities which may affect the work we could undertake.  As such our programme remained fluid to enable changes in planned works to be made where possible to accommodate the school.

The work was undertaken on a phased basis so areas could be completed and handed back to the school so large areas were not completely out of service.Prior to area handover we would complete.

Feedback from the school on Lancashire County Council’s KPIs showed us achieving 10/10 on every aspect including management on site, handover, programme, budget, security and safety and overall performance
