This project comprised of the supply and installation of 9 x 22kw E Box EV chargers inclusive of all civil works, barriers and signage.
Thompsons are one of only 3 contractors appointed to the Electrical Framework with Lancashire County Council. This framework was awarded following a comprehensive quality assessment process and projects are awarded at design stage to the nominated Contractor to develop the design working with all parties including the end user to ensure an effective solution is achieved.
Thompson were appointed as Principal Contractor and responsible for all CDM and H&S Management for the project delivery. The works comprised:
- All ground and civil works for cable routes including re instatement.
- Kiosk bases and installation of external kiosks
- EV charger plinths and bases
- EV Barriers and protection
- EV road markings and signage
- Load monitoring
- Asbestos removal works to cable ducts and chambers
The project included the diversion of existing supply to new MCCB panel boards with meters. The panel board then supplied new Matt:e distribution units which supply the new EV chargers via XLPE/SWA LSF cables contained on cable trays and via underground ducting.
The matt:e ARD connection centres provide a simple to install dedicated EV connection centre, with built in O-PEN® technology, that allows for the connection of EV charge points to the PME earthing facility without the use of earth electrodes.
