Appointed as the Electrical Contractor, Thompson Building Services Engineers undertook the alterations and adaptations to the existing electrical services within Student Accommodation Blocks at Myerscough College.  This was part of the complete refurbishment of the accommodation and we handed over the project this week.

Works included:

• New incoming electrical supply and new power circuits
• New lighting and emergency lighting
• New mechanical supplies including: water heaters and BMS panels
• New data installation
  
• Modifications to existing fire alarm system
• New door entry system
• Induction loops
• New CCTV system

Together with the refurbishment of the accommodation we also completed the connection of temporary student accommodation so that students could remain on site during the refurbishment works.   The students have now moved back into their new fresh accommodation.

A new incoming supply was installed with metering gateway to enable collection of data onto the college network.  New LED Lighting scheme for all bedrooms with manual switch and presence and absence detection within circulation areas.

The project commenced shortly before the national lockdown and we worked closely with the Principal Contractor Carefoot Construction to ensure adherence to all Covid Control Measures so that the project could proceed to planned programme.
