Project Description

Higher Walton Primary School – Plant Upgrade

This project for Lancashire County Council was handed over at October Half Term 2022.  The goal of the project was to strip out and replace the inefficient outdated hot water and heating plant within the plantroom.  This would offer greater energy efficiencies and cost savings to the school.

The outdated bulky hot water and heating systems were removed and the plant room reconfigured to ensure accessibilty for ongoing maintenance.

Two new ACV Heatmaster 45 TC Units were installed to replace the old existing boliers and water heater.  Grunfoss pumps were also installed together with pressursation unit.

New pipework was installed and this was thermally insulated and water treatment carried out including heating dosing and sterlisation of the hot and cold domestic services.

Water treatment has been carried to both heating and domestic service systems. Domestic services chlorinated / sterilised, and the heating system dosed with corrosion proof inhibiter.

A new Ambiflex BEMS controller was also installed to control the LTHW heating plant providing the school with control over both heating and hot water production with holiday and summer modes.
